Cierra Young is an author, filmmaker, publisher and entrepreneur whose creative work was born long before there was a camera, magazine cover or company behind her name.

Her story

PAST.
TRANSFORMATION.
PURPOSE.

01

Her Story

After losing her mother at just 10 years old, Cierra's childhood and teenage years were shaped by instability, difficult choices and circumstances that forced her to grow up quickly. She became emancipated at 16 and later found herself facing consequences that could have dramatically changed the course of her life. Instead of allowing those chapters to become the ending of her story, she began the difficult work of changing its direction.

That transformation became the foundation of Cierra's approach to storytelling. Rather than hiding the imperfect parts of her journey, she learned to turn them into purpose—using lived experience to create stories centered on resilience, accountability, survival, ambition and the power of deciding that your past does not get to dictate your future.

02

From Story to Purpose

Her journey eventually became My Demon Wears a Crown, first through the written word and later through independent film, with Cierra stepping behind the camera to help bring the story to the screen. What began as the courage to tell her own story evolved into a larger mission: creating platforms where other people's journeys could be seen, celebrated and remembered too.

“My Demon Wears a Crown gives a voice to where she came from. Generous Wolf Magazine creates space to give others their flowers for where they are going.”

03

Giving Others Their Flowers

That mission is at the heart of Generous Wolf Magazine. The publication was created to give women who are thriving in business and making meaningful contributions within their communities the recognition—their flowers—they deserve for their hard work, leadership and dedication.

Rather than waiting until someone's journey is complete to celebrate their impact, Generous Wolf creates space to recognize people while they are still building, serving, leading and breaking barriers.

Through the magazine, Cierra has had the privilege of working with and honoring founders, philanthropists, civil rights and community activists, community leaders, professional athletes and publishing pioneers, as well as remarkable young people already creating their own definitions of success.

Those stories include young achievers graduating ahead of schedule, becoming the first in their families to earn degrees and reaching milestones that represent more than individual accomplishment. They represent families changing trajectories, breaking generational cycles, challenging stagnant expectations and creating new possibilities for the people who come after them.

That is what connects the different pieces of Cierra's work.

Through publishing, independent film and editorial media, Cierra continues building a creative ecosystem rooted in storytelling, ownership, recognition and opportunity.

For Cierra, success isn't only about having your own story heard. It's also about having the platform to turn around, recognize someone else's journey and say:

“I see what you're building, too.”
